Week 47

The view

Monday 9/19/2016

In the morning we went to the mall with Elder Hugie/Durant. We were on the hunt to get new pants for Elder Hugie, we weren't able to find anything good. We went to a few more stores and grabbed Chick fill a for lunch. We got dropped off then went to the church building for the activity. We did some long boarding while waiting for people to arrive. We played glow in the dark ultimate frisbee. After the activity we went had a lesson with the Castros, but they weren't home. We stopped by Walmart to get some medicine for Elder Rubio. Since he had a pretty bad headache. 

Tuesday 

In the morning we went out to do some finding before lunch. We had lunch at Elder Sparacino/Fishers apartment. After lunch we did some more finding before we stopped by sister Parks to get haircuts. We grabbed dinner from Taco Bell, we wanted something quick. After dinner we saw Daniel he didn't have much time to meet so we cut our visit short. We weren't able to see anyone else before the end of the night.

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies the zone leaders needed us to drop off some supplies for tabling. So we stuck around the college campus and got a few referrals for the zone leaders. It is a nice change of pace to be working with the college students. We were able to get some free socks from a company that was tabling, which was cool. After we went to the institute, then headed back to the apartment for lunch. After lunch we tried some people didn't catch anyone. We went back to the apartment lab where the zone leaders were doing stake reports. We had a late dinner with the Remington's and sisters. It was a pretty funny dinner the Remington's are awesome. We had a lesson with Leo to end the night. We shared a spiritual message and saw how he is doing. 

 Thursday 

We had district meeting in the morning. We focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ. After we had lunch, Elder Pruitt made Shepard's pie for everyone. Elder Rubio started to come down with the sickness that has been passing through the zone. We got some rest. Then went to the church building to find the sisters phone, since they left it at the church. We did a little finding before dinner. We had dinner at Marie Calendars with Elder Kuene/Gentry and the sisters. We had probably one of the best waiters. After dinner we went and had a lesson with Alex, we taught him the gospel of Jesus Christ. After we headed in for the night. 

Friday 

In the morning we had a service at a members in the Yorba Linda area with most of the zone. We cleared out their back yard of brush, we got the job done pretty quick. We hurried back for a lesson with Chris a member referral. We taught him the restoration and he really liked the message. He does live in another ward so we will be passing him to the right area. We went back to have lunch, then we went back out. We did some finding till we picked up dinner since the member was sick. After dinner we tried more people till the end of the night.

Saturday 

In the morning after studies we had a lesson with Brother Pepper his girlfriend was still in town. We had lunch then did finding for the rest of the day. We didn't get any contacts surprisingly for a Saturday. We saw a car that wrecked into a fire hydrant and the water was shooting through the hood of the car. We had dinner with Elder Sparacino and Fisher at Panda. We went to the hospital with them to give someone a blessing. We spent an hour there, then found out we could go. We stopped by Joe's ice to finish the night. 

Sunday 

In the morning we had ward council. We went back to the apartment and had our studies. We had a good time at church. We didn't have anyone in gospel principles so we had a meeting with brother Larsen. After church we had a early dinner with the Sanders family, they are really cool. We tried to see a referral Chris but he was sick so we will try to see him next week. We went back to do our weekly planning and Elder Rubio got some needed rest for his sickness. We stopped by the zone leaders at the end of the night. 

Week 46

Monday 9/12/2016 

In the morning we left and stopped by the mission office. We went to Garden Grove for Sister V's birthday party. It was kind of wired to be back in the building I started my mission in. They had a potluck like going on so we had lunch there. We were able to see a lot of our buddies. After we went back to Placentia and stopped by Joe's on the way back up. We did some shopping before Pday activity. We played sock soccer for the activity which was probably one of the best games. You play in you socks and use a giant exercise ball as the soccer ball. After the activity we went back to have dinner. Our lesson fell through for the night so we did some finding instead.

Tuesday 

In the morning after studies we had to go to the mall. We went to the Apple Store since Elder Rubio's iPad wasn't charging. We found out what the problem was then went to the mission office to get a new charger for the iPad. After we went back had lunch then went out to see people. We had a lesson with brother Manning, we shared the restoration and talked about building his faith. After brother Manning a we went out finding we didn't catch anyone to interested. We had dinner at a Mongolian grill with the Thompson's. After dinner we saw Daniel, he knows that the Book of Mormon is true so we have to work from that point. He is a little hard to work with but we are hoping to get him progressing. We tried a few more people unfortunately we had to drop a few people that weren't interested. 

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies we headed to Stop Hunger Now. We did the service with the sister in our ward. We helped get pallets staged for some events that they will be holding. We went to Cali tacos for lunch then we all went back to finish the service. We headed back to Placentia then went out finding. We were not able to catch anyone at home before dinner. We picked up dinner from the Underhills. That was the end of the night. We stayed in since I might be coming down with something.

Thursday

In the morning we had district meeting. We focused on the plan of salvation. We did a lot of role playing of teaching the lesson. The zone did a grab and gather for lunch so we got some in n out. After lunch we went out to try and connect with people, no good luck. We had dinner with sister Larson. After dinner we went back to the church to get our iPads up to date. I decided we should go and see Alex a guy we have been trying to contact for a while. We just happened to catch him home and taught him the restoration. That was super awesome it had been months since missionaries last saw him.

Friday   

After we finished studies my comp had to get some rest, since he wasn't doing well. We were able to get our weekly planning finished. We went out to do some finding. We were able to meet Edie and teach him the restoration. Edie was not that interested in pursuing another religion at this time, but maybe in the future. We went to dinner at the bishops house. After dinner we did a little finding before we had to head back in for the night.

Saturday  

In the morning after studies we made a stop in Fullerton to get some technology taken care of. We went back and our complex was having a Hawaiian BBQ, so we got free lunch which is always nice. We had a lesson with brother Pepper we shared a quick one since he had company over. We saw Liz and talked to her about the Book of Mormon. Liz says she believes that it is true, but she doesn't think she is ready for baptism till she finds more out. We had our dinner with sister Lorene at the Whole Enchilada. After dinner we did a little finding and stopped by a baptism before the end of the night. 

Sunday 

In the morning we had ward council then we went back to have our studies. There was the primary program during sacrament meeting. Brother Larson had some visitors from china at church. We gave a tour of the church building and helped answer questions. It is interesting to teach someone who has no understanding of God and it taught to be atheist. In elders quorum we got to see the presidency released and a new one called. After church we grabbed lunch, then went out to find people. We didn't make a lot of good contacts. We picked up dinner from the Mohs. After dinner we stopped by the church to do some updating. We stopped by Elder Sparacino/Fishers before the end of the night. 

Week 45

Monday 9/5/2015

In the morning we went mountainboarding with Elder Sparacino and Fisher. We did that for a couple hours. We did some emailing before we went to pday activity at the church. After pday activity we headed over to the Padilla's for dinner that is were we finished the night.

Tuesday 

In the morning we took Elder Russell and Sparto to SAMs. We grabbed lunch at Chic fil a. We stopped by Joe's and the mission office before we dropped them off. We had a lesson with Liz. We taught Liz the restoration and the importance of the Book of Mormon. We had dinner with the Olsen family. After dinner we did finding till the end of the night. 

Wednesday

In the morning we went out to do some finding before lunch. We were able to see Leo before dinner and we shared a message with him. We talked about building his faith and church attendance. We were able to catch Ej at home and talked to him about coming to church. We also focused on how we can help the rest of his family. 

Thursday 

We had district meeting in the morning. President came with our district he had a lot of great insight. We had lunch at the church with half of the zone. We went out finding after lunch. We were able to meet these two girls that are in college and get a return appointment. We picked up dinner from the Park family. Our lesson fell through for the night, so we did finding for the rest of the night. 

Friday 

Elder Rubio was sick in the morning so we did our weekly planning. We were in for a while until he was good to go out. The zone leaders stopped by as we were leaving to check up. We went to see the girls from the previous day, but they were leaving to go to class. We did more finding for the rest of the night. We stopped by missionary basketball to see our investigators that went. There was a DUI checkpoint that we got stopped by. The officer walked up and said he would ask if we had been drinking, but he already knew the answer. 

Saturday 

We did a little finding in the morning before our lesson with brother Pepper. We read with brother Pepper and shared the restoration. We went and picked up Elder Russel and Sparto for the temple grounds walk. We stopped by Joe's on the way back to Placentia. We had dinner with the Thompsons at the Soup planation. They are probably our favorite people to eat with. After dinner we did some finding to end our night.

Sunday 

We had ward council in the morning. We went back to do some studies before church. Elder Acosta of the area seventy attended sacrament meeting. We have been seeing him a lot lately. He shared a story of how he used to be the best at Rock, paper, scissors . After church we visited a few people before dinner. We had dinner with the Bunker family. We ended the night at the Bunkers.

Week 44

Monday 8/29/2016 

In the morning the zone went on a hike in Silverado canyon. So we went to the top of the canyon with a small group Elders (Sparacino, Rubio, Hanks and Hugie). We longboard down the canyon road. It was pretty scary to be going that fast on a wooden board. Elder Rubio came down a hill unable to slow down and ended in brush at the foot of a tree. We grabbed In n out for lunch probably not he best decision. Then we went mountainboarding. It was fun more control with a mountainboard. We played some Munchkin then met the A10 sister at the church. People started to come in then played some volleyball in the gym. We had picked up dinner from the Johnson's home. After dinner we went and had a lesson with Daniel. We taught him the Restoration. He has had a lot of exposure to the church which is great. We stopped by Walmart at the end of the night.

Tuesday 

In the morning we had studies then lunch before we headed to Mary's kitchen for service. After Mary's kitchen we went to an appointment. We stopped by the mission office and picked somethings up. Joe's ice on the way back to Placentia. It was dinner by the time we got back. We went out and did some finding before the night ended. 

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies we had a service at stop hunger now. We had the service with Elder Sparacino and Parker. We had Cali Tacos for lunch and we saw some Spanish missionaries there. After lunch we went back and finished up helping out. We grabbed some Joe's ice on the way back to Placentia. We had dinner with one of the members. After dinner we got some haircuts from Sister Stephenson. That ended our night. 

Thursday

 In the morning we had zone training. We had some really great experiences shared. We had district and zone pictures since transfers are about to happen. After lunch at he church we stopped by brother Money's house to pick something up. We had a dinner then went out finding. We met a woman and talked about the Book of Mormon with her. She didn't want to read and pray about knowing if it is true. We tried a few more people before we headed back in for the night. 

Friday 

In the morning after studies we gave Elder Hugie and Wright a ride to the mission office. We grabbed lunch at Alohas. After we dropped them off we did our weekly planning which lasted for a while we had dinner then went out. We did some visiting of people we found a lot of people that no longer live there. We met this women that got us into her complex that knows the members, but she wasn't interested in meeting. We met with the sisters to got ready for a meeting with our new ward mission leader. Then called it a night. 

Saturday 

In the morning we had a meeting with brother Larsen about the ward mission. He made us breakfast and we were able to get him up to date. We went over to brother Remington's house to do some service for him. We helped get some stuff loaded to take to the dump and other things. We got to the dump to find out they can't take the things that we had in the truck. The dump that would be able to take the stuff was way out of the mission. He took us to lunch at Mendocino farms pretty good. We had a lesson with Nyle we read with him. We are hoping to get Nyle coming to church. We went back and had dinner. We did finding for the rest of the night. We met Liz,a new investigator and setup a appointment. The night ended at the Daltons house helping hang a mirror. Elder Sparacino and Fisher took us to Sonic before transfer calls. We got the call we are staying together for another transfer. 

Sunday  

We had church in the morning. It was testimony meeting they had a a lot of great testimonies. After church we did some planning before dinner. We had dinner at Brother Larsen's house. We talked with him for a while he is one of the most interesting people. He seems to have done everything and been everywhere. He has all kinds of international connections. After dinner we met Daniel and rescheduled a appointment for the week. Tried a few more people then headed in for the night.
