Week 43

Monday 8/22/2016 

In the morning we went to soccer with Elder Hugie. We met up at the Costco and had lunch with some other missionaries. We took Elder Sparacino/Fisher to the longboard shop. We went to pday activity and everyone played volley ball. We had a dinner with Elder Sparacino and Fisher at one of their members homes. That ended our night.

Tuesday 

We went out finding after our morning studies and lunch. We were not able to find anyone home all day, surprisingly. We stopped by Joe's ice before dinner. After dinner we tried a few more people then went back to pack for exchanges. I stayed in the area with Elder Hugie 

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies we had a service at stop hunger now. We picked up Elder Hanks and Pedon. We left for lunch and stopped by the mission office then had lunch at Cali tacos. We went back to stop hunger now and they did not have anything for us to do. We stopped by Joe's ice on the way back to Placentia. We had dinner with the Tobins. After dinner we did some finding and we met Daniel, he is pretty awesome. We setup appointment for Thursday and gave him a Book of Mormon.

Thursday 

We had district meeting in the morning, we are still covering the Book of Mormon. We want to make sure that our investigators are converted to the right thing. There are people that become converted to the church, but not to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had lunch back at the church and played sardines after. We did some work with the YL 3 Elders before dinner. After dinner we drove Elder Sparacino and Fisher to get some Joe's ice. 

Friday 

In the morning we helped, in load some fans for Brother Lenford in Yorba Linda. He is pretty cool he does the Christ in the America presentations. We stopped by the mission office to get some work on the car done. Lunch at Alohas one of the best places to eat in the mission. We did our weekly planning. We were able to meet the Castro's finally. We were able to setup appointments on Mondays with them. We had dinner with the bishop then did some more finding. We exchanged with the zone leaders at the end of the night. I went with Elder Haynie to the YSA ward. It is convenient to live in the same complex.

Saturday 

In the morning we went out to visit people. We met a YSA in a park he wanted to know if there was a prophet on the earth, but he wouldn't except a Book of Mormon. After lunch we had a lesson with Steven. We read the Book of Mormon with him. We picked up the Birch Hills Elders then had dinner with the Stake President. After dinner we headed over to the church for a baptism for the Birch Hills investigators. It was a super powerful baptism and they had great testimonies. The YSA was able to have their investigator McKenna come. We talked about her baptism in September. We went to the church to pick up car reports. We found out that the sisters made a car report scavenger hunt. We exchanged back at the end of the night. 

Sunday 

In the morning we had ward council. We had some time before church so we went back to the apartment. We met our new ward mission leader Brother Larsen. Brother Remington was able to teach gospel principles. We had a awesome lesson in Elders quorum on priesthood authority. After church we grabbed lunch then went out to do some finding. Our dinner was with the Moe family they are awesome. We tried a few more people then ended the night.

Week 42

Monday 8/15/2016

In the morning we went mountain biking with Elder Hugie and he stayed with us for the rest of the day. I rode until the bike that I was using got a flat tire. We grabbed brunch at I Hop. We did some emailing then looked at some shops. We headed to pday activity, but not many people showed up. All of the Elders that were at the church went to the A6 apartment and played some board games. We all went back to the church and played some chair soccer. We had dinner with Brother Mcafee, he made us dipped roast beef sandwiches. After dinner we had family home evening with him and his kids. We watched a video on Alma and the Zoramites. That ended our night.  

Tuesday 

After studies we did some finding before lunch no one was interested. After lunch we went down to Orange for a chiropractic appointment for Elder Rubio. After his appointment we stopped by to see Elder Thomas and Mahe. We got stuck in traffic on the way back to Placentia for dinner. We were able to see the smoke from wild fires over the mountains. We got to dinner late unfortunately. Elder Rubio forgot his iPad at the members house. The sisters grabbed the iPad and dropped it off to us. We got a quick car wash to get ready for zone conference, then headed to the apartment. 

Wednesday 

In the morning we drove right over to the church building for zone conference. Elder Julio C. Acosta of the area seventy was able to attend only one of the conferences so we were pretty lucky. We had a lot of training on the Book of Mormon and using it to teach people. After zone training we got ready for dinner then we had dinner with Warners. After we did some finding. We were able to meet Leo a less active and his girlfriend has interest in learning. We also met Memo and talked about the Book of Mormon and invited him to church. We got a return appointment to see the Felicionos before the end of the night. 

Thursday 

In the morning after studies we went to Tustin and met with most of the zone at Buffalo Wild Wings. We met there to celebrate Elder Sami's birthday. After lunch we had service at the nursing home for a while. We had dinner with the Remington's, Hawaiian haystacks. After dinner it was time to head back in Elder Rubio might be coming down with something so we will see. 

Friday   

After studies we had the zone leaders over and I made lunch. After lunch we did our weekly planning we have a lot of people to meet and see this coming week. We went to grandma's house a member in YL5. Grandma made pies and she is from the Dayton Ohio area Union to be specific. We were there for a while, got to check out all of their animals and such. We met the sisters at the Fischers to grab dinner. We ate at the YL5 apartment. We went and saw EJ a less active in the ward, we got to see were he is at from the last time missionaries saw him. That was what end of our night.

Saturday 

In the morning after studies we met with the zone leaders at the computer lab for stake reports. We had a quick lunch then headed to a lesson. We met with Brother Pepper a 90 year old member. We also met his great granddaughter and she is interested in hearing the lessons. After that we went down to Anaheim for a birthday party of a member in one of Elder Rubio's previous wards. We got back to Placentia and grabbed our dinner. We were not able to get back out Elder Rubio had to rest. 

Sunday  

In the morning we went to sacrament meeting and stayed to watch sister Moon's talk. We left early with the sisters to head to Anaheim for a meeting with Elder Dallin H. Oaks, of the twelve. We got there pretty early then all of the missionaries started coming into the building. The meeting started when he arrived and shook all of our hands. Elder Oaks was accompanied by Elder Joaquin E. Costa of the seventy. Elder Costa spoke about his conversion and he was pretty entertaining. He was able to get quite a few laughs during his portion. Elder Oaks came with no prepared remarks and followed the spirit when he spoke. We were taught about not assuming and not skipping important steps in teaching. He also wanted to include commitments and how important they are to progress. He had a great sense of humor. It was even cooler that he is currently in charge of the missionary department. He had to cut his remarks short so he didn't miss his flight, then he was gone. After we went back to the apartment and ate a small lunch before dinner. We did some finding, after dinner we were able to meet Max while walking down a street. We are planning on seeing him next Sunday.

Week 41

Monday 8/8/2016

In the morning we went mountain biking with Elder Hugie in Fullerton. We biked for less than an hour. We went back to the apartment and did some emailing then went to the army surplus store. We went to Dicks so Elder Hugie could try to find some camo stuff. They don't seem to carry hunting stuff in California. We saw this giant mansion on a hill, so we went up to check it out. We got to the top and there was palaces all over. We took some pictures then headed to zone activity. We played gator ball at the church's park for a while till we had to leave. We had dinner with the Bremer's. Sister Bremer sells do terra oils so she had us and the sisters smelling all of the oils. After she gave us our natural high with oils we headed back to the apartment.

Tuesday 

In the morning we went to help a member take her business decals off of some windows. We went back to her house where she made us lunch. We were able to teach her husband a short lesson before we left. When we left we took care of some things. We went to Elder Rubio's chiropractor appointment which ran over. While he was getting his back popped I laid on a rolling table thing. We got stuck in traffic on our way back to Placentia. We went to dinner with the Thompson's at soup planation. Then after dinner we did a little finding. 

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies Elder Hugie/Wright stopped by to pick up laundry. We picked up lunch at Taco Bell then we went to the A6 Elders apartment. We dropped Elder Hugie and Wright off then went to finding. We found some cool people that have some great potential. We stopped for dinner then went back out. We continued finding till we had to head back to the apartment. 

Thursday  

In the morning we had district meeting. We have been focusing on the role of the Book of Mormon in conversion. We did a grab then gather for lunch. We went back to do some cleaning for apartment inspections. We did service at Bradford nursing home, we did bowling. We went back for apartment inspection Elder Pruitt made us Oreo cheesecake which was good. Dinner with the Powell's they were cool the only problem was we felt sick from the meal when we got in the car. I got ready for an exchange, I went with Elder Wright to the Tricity area. 

Friday 

In the morning after studies we had a service. We helped move a bunch of clay tiles at this house that was built in the 1800's. We were not able to finish since there is probably thousands. The member that bought the house wants to restore the house, it will be amazing when it is finished. We grabbed lunch then headed to do another service. We helped move a giant projection tv from a members upstairs, kind of a hard job. The member brought us to Kyoto not the place in Japan it was a sushi/American food buffet. We saw a less active and taught her a brief message. Dinner was at the soup planation second time in a week. After dinner we tried some people then went and exchanged back.  

Saturday 

In the morning we went and helped move more clay roofing tiles. We did that for a while. We met with the ward mission leader brother Remington who just got back from Canada. After we finished it was time for dinner we stopped by so we could pick up dinner from a members house. We went to see Katy but she wasn't home. We did some finding to close the night. 

Sunday 

We went to church in the morning. After church we grabbed some lunch at the apt then visited some referrals we received. Our dinner was with Brother Remington's family. After dinner we met Cris we have been trying to see him for a while now and we got a return appointment for next Sunday.

Week 40

Monday 8/1/2016 

In the morning we met up with most of our zone and the ASL for soccer. We played soccer till lunch time. We went with Elder Hugie to the mission office where we got somethings with our car fixed. We had lunch at Wendy's then stopped by Joe's on the way back to Placentia. We did some emailing before pday activity. Our pday activity was glow in the dark frisbee. It was a cool game because you are running around in confusion. After pday activity we went to dinner at the bishops house. We finished there with a informal meeting. 

Tuesday 

In the morning we had a service just right down the street from our apartment. We helped setup tables for a event the police department was putting on. Most of the Elders from our zone came to help. They bought us In n out for lunch before we left. We went back to the apartment to change someone's load of laundry. We went down to the mission office to drop off our car report and pickup some things. We had to hit Joe's ice on the way back up, so we did. We stopped by the store to get some food for the week. We had a dinner with the Powell's, some nice steaks. After dinner we stopped by the event we setup for. The zone leaders had a booth setup with the sisters from our ward. We stayed for a while it was time to go then we headed back to the apartment.

Wednesday  

After studies we picked up Elder Russell and Sparto to take them some places. We stopped by Chik fil a before we dropped them back off. We went out and tried to see some members that the bishop referred us to, no one was home. Then it was time for dinner so we headed back to the apartment. After dinner we went out and saw some other investigators we were able to get some return appointments. Before we knew it it was time for us to to head in for the night. 

Thursday 

We had zone training in the morning. The topic for zone training was on the Book of Mormon. We had a really great role play, at the end were we introduced the Book of Mormon to people. After zone training it was a grab and gather so we picked up some subway then met back at the church. We helped Sister Rosenlund and Tew with a service they had after. We got a bunch of stuff to give to Deseret industries to find out that the bin they had in the parking lot of the church was gone. We drove to Fullerton to see if they had one there but there was not one there either. While we were at the Euclid building we saw Elder Hamby and Barnett. We hurried back to Placentia to get ready for dinner. We had dinner with sister Larson and the sisters. After dinner we did some work on finding people for the bishop. 

Friday 

After studies we went over to the zone leaders apartment for lunch. We did our weekly planning. We met with the sisters to divide some people up in the ward that are being taught. We visited some people before dinner at the apartment. The lesson we had with Alex fell through, we will try to get in contact with him. We met these kids in a apartment complex and I sword battled them. Then we went to a nurse home facility were the halls seemed to never end. We stopped by the church and some investigators were playing basketball. That was the end of our night. 

Saturday 

When we finished studies we invited the zone leaders down to the pool for lunch. We grilled some chicken at the pool. We went out to visit some people no one was home. We stopped by the church where a funeral and baptisms were happening. We went to one of the kids in the wards baptism. After the baptism we took Elder Gentry/Henry back to the apartment and we made dinner. We dropped them off at downtown Brea, then visited till the end of the night. 

Sunday 

We went to church it was a awesome fast Sunday. I was able to meet a lot of other people on the ward that are not on vacation this week. After church we stopped by the apartment. Then we headed over to the Padilla's were we had a lesson and dinner with the sisters. We were there for the rest of the night.

Week 39

Monday 7/25/2016 Transfer Day 

In the morning I finished packing all of my stuff. Then we did some shopping and other tasks. We went down to the mission office to switch cars but the ones we were going to switch with didn't show. We stopped by Joe's on the way back up to Fullerton. We packed my stuff in the car and stopped by a computer. We met up at a church building with a few other companionships. We put the people's stuff with the corresponding cars, then we all split. We dropped the stuff off at the apartment and did a little shopping. We finished up then went to pday activity at the church. When the activity was finished we went to a dinner with the sisters at a members house. After dinner we went back to the apartment and I unpacked. 

Tuesday 

In the morning after studies we had a service with the Tricity Elders. We met there with a few other companionships. We helped a women in their ward with moving. We all went to lunch at Panda Express after. We dropped everyone off and went to visit some people before dinner. A older couple brought us and the sisters to dinner at soup plantation. We went out and tried to visit people in the ward. 

Wednesday 

In the morning after studies the Tricity Elders dropped off some laundry. We had waffles that Elder Peton made us. They truck Elders came by around lunch to drop off a new dresser. After lunch we went out and tried visiting more people. Our meeting with the bishop got cancelled. That was the end of the night. We stopped by the zone leaders apartment to give them cheese for lunch at district meeting. 

Thursday 

We had district meeting in the morning after studies. We focused on receiving revelation. Elder Pruitt made casserole for the whole zone, it is gong to be fun. We dropped off the Tricity Elders on the way back to the apartment. We went to a service at a nursing home. We helped them play bowling in a hallway. I was the one that reset all of the pins. When we were finished we headed over to dinner. We went out and visited after dinner. We got a return appointment for Saturday. 

Friday 

In the morning after studies we met with the bishop for lunch. We talked about the missionary work in the ward. We went back to the apartment and weekly planned till dinner. We had dinner with some members. After dinner we had a lesson with the Padilla's. We taught about teaching, learning and service. We did some finding before we headed back for the night. 

Saturday 

In the morning after studies we went out to try and visit some people. We had lunch a Cali Tacos with Elder Rubio's Trianon that came back to visit. After lunch we went back to the apartment to have some work done on the apartment. We had dinner with the Thompson family at Marie calendars. We went out finding, our target was less actives but no one seemed to be home. 

Sunday 

In the morning we went to church. I met a lot of the people in the ward. The ward is going to be a lot of fun. After church we grabbed a small lunch then went out to find some people. We had dinner with a member. He was cool he works for a cool chocolate company. We did some more funding before we ended the night. 

It was a pretty good week just learning the area.
